Organisation serves men and Trans women engaged into sex work (Male Sex Workers) community in five zone of Mumbai district for HIV/AIDS and STI Prevention Project supported by Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS). There were approximately 37 sites between Churchgate to Chembur and Andheri to Mahim. Currently active populations served under the project are 2480 key populations.
GAURAV is working in Nagpur District (Urban) in 17 sites in Nagpur Urban Area where health services are being offered to Male having sex with Male (MSM) and Transgender (TG) under the Targeted Intervention project funded by Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). Currently we have Target of 1300 HRGs under this project and availing services. These sites includes KPG1, KPG 2, KP Minar, Railway station, Gaddigodam, Teka Naka, Sadar, Poonam Chamber, Morbhavan, Maharaja Baug, Ambazzari, Futala, Wadi Naka, and Khapri.
Project Shaan- strengthening stigma reduction and access to justice mechanism
Project Shaan is a detailed and comprehensive initiative that describes the key areas of policy and practice change needed to advance the sexual and reproductive health and human rights of MSM and TG living in urban and semi-urban pockets of Maharashtra state, India. This project will increase their access to legal aid and the justice mechanisms, through sensitive trained lawyers and paralegals. The project will look at helping people resolve some of these issues through legal counselling, legal aid and litigation. The project will also use innovative approaches in dealing with stigma around same sex issues in health care setting. The program is implemented in Mumbai district and Nagpur district for period of two years. The program is supported by ViiV health care- positive action.
Objectives: The Overall objective of training for health providers is to reduce stigma and discrimination faced by young MSM and TG community members in health care settings, as well as to enhance HIV, STI and other sexual health services for men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people.
Youth Voices Count (YVC) is implementing small scale projects in 09 countries in Asia and the Pacific region. These are Bhutan, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The projects are implemented as part of the IGNITE! Mentorship program launched by YVC in 2015. IGNITE! Is consisted of 09 mentees who will be the implementers of these small scale projects. APCOM engages GAURAV TRSUT to act as the fiscal host of the monies to implement the IGNITE! Small-scale project lead by Ms. Daina De Souza with support from Vinodkumar Chettiar referred to as Mentee under the Supervision of Youth Voice Count (YVC). With objective Empowerment of transgender youth in Mumbai by improving their access to community colleges, as well as advocating for their rights
GAURAV organisation is selected as partner in CONNECT supported by The Humsafar rust and Amplify change grants for CBO empanelment aims to build capacities of community based organizations on conducting advocacy, program management and strengthening communication with stakeholders and initiated by INFOSEM in terms of training of its members.
